20 years old todae
Readin the newspaper today.. there was a wide coverage of President Wee Kim Wee's funeral, the whole of Singapore witnessed the event, including myself. Reflecting on what his grand-daughter said abt the President and his wife everlasting relationship of 69 years, I wondered, if such relationship existed among couples today? Would any husband take the initiative to compile his wife's fav songs into a list? In many ways, they were the perfect couple as would any old aged couple i believed, soulmates in life and in death as well. No doubt tears came to my eyes when i read the eulogy given by his grand daughter. A simple speech dedicated to President Wee Kim Wee that moved the hearts of many, including SM Lee Kuan Yew. As President Wee Kim Wee once said, " In death we are all equal." We come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing. Yet it is up to us to make our mark and live meaningful lives in this world.
Sentiments always come with the passing of loved ones. Then life proceeds again, filled with the fast paces of globalisation in the modern world. Time and tide waits for no man.
