It's going to b mid Jan soon. 3 more weeks to CNY...gosh...i have been slackin at home close to 2 weeks... It may seem like a good break to have but it's relli sian to constantly worry about my rice bowl. Have been looking for jobs and to tell the truth, there is;t much jobs for fresh grads like me in this field. When it comes to hiring, especially for R&D positions, companies are only willing to hire and train smart pple with hon and high CAP./GPA. It just hits ur self esteem when u look at the requirements that list down: only those with 2nd upper hon need to apply. It's relli depressing and makes me have second thoughts of continuing in my field. And the problem is there;s not much other jobs that are willing to take u in for ur so specialised degree. So many biz and IT positions.... It relli tempts me to go study again... the second option i have is settling for admin work which is not relli my cup of tea. TO have a Sci degree is either u enter the teaching field or continue to study to become a scientist or researcher, sigh.... ANd i was so glad to be rid of those toxic chemicals...
Looking at my frens who are doing fyp...it's only 1 more sem left for them...soon all of us will b working adults... I dun think there's any proble for those future engineers and bankers... with so many of those jobs out there...
Was offered another position this time round working as business support for a well known bank but it's another contractual position again... dunno if i shld accept it? It's so funny becoz i am not direclty hired by them and yet i am stationed there... hai...if i take it up, will not have the time to go for other interviews le... how can i know if this is an opportunity or just another contract job that offers no benefits and future progression? ARGH!!!! and i have to give them an ans soon...
I feel that as i grow up more, i am taking a step further away from my dreams and ambitions.
This is how life goes:
In your 10s, u are happy with your childhood and can play all you like
In your 20s, u grad and start to look for a job and spend all your time with your loved one.
In your 30s, u fight your way up the corporate ladder and start a family of your own.
In your 40s, u establish a good career and reputation (hopefully) and enjoy family time.
In your 50s, u are the most experienced in your career and the senior to everyone. You start to plan for retirement? You have to manage the household expenses and worry about family income.
